Abstract

This article examines the theoretical and practical aspects of improving the mechanism for using market prices to determine additional tax base reserves in regions. The difference between the current estimated values and the real market prices in determining the value of existing economic resources, real estate, land plots, goods and services in the regions may lead to incomplete formation of the tax base. From this perspective, the use of market prices is justified as an important tool for determining the real tax potential of regions, identifying hidden tax bases, and mobilizing additional tax revenue reserves. The study analyzes the main factors that shape market prices, the possibilities of their application in tax administration, and the existing approaches to assessing the tax base in the context of regions.
