Abstract

This article explores consecutive interpreting as a significant mode of oral translation in multilingual communication. The study examines the defining characteristics, principles, and stages of consecutive interpreting, with particular emphasis on the processes of listening, comprehension, note-taking, memory retention, and message reformulation. The paper analyzes the role of the interpreter in ensuring accurate and effective transfer of meaning while preserving the communicative intent of the speaker.
