Abstract

Economic exposure is one of the most critical indicators that countries are interested in, regardless of their economic approaches, and macroeconomic studies also focus on it because it reveals the mutual relationships between the local economy and the international economy. The danger of this indicator lies in its potential to directly or indirectly affect the formation of the gross domestic product. Therefore, the current study, which is divided into three sections, will address the most prominent concepts of economic exposure and its degrees of measurement Then, in the second section, the structure of the Iraqi gross domestic product and the economic exposure index will be analyzed, and in the third section, a practical application will be conducted by using the distributed slowdown autoregression model (ARDL) to measure the relationship between the study variables and the dependent variable represented by the gross domestic product, leading to conclusions and recommendations.
